How will employees benefit from the Survey Project?
The survey project represents a unique opportunity for employees to have input into strategic planning efforts at a critical time. By completing surveys, employees provide unique insight regarding how well the organization is maintaining a work environment that encourages and supports performance, employee well-being, and the desired County culture that is reflected in the Strategic Plan.
The survey results are being used by department management to help inform decisions about efforts to enhance the work climate and better support employees and the desired County culture. The programs and initiatives that follow will improve work life, job satisfaction, and employee well-being. The increased attention on employee experiences should encourage managers and supervisors throughout the County to pay more attention to how their behavior and decisions affect the work environment, employees, and their performance.
Who is listening to my input?
The collective results of the surveys were made available to County and department management in summary reports. This information is helping management identify and prioritize programs and initiatives in the areas where they are most needed and will contribute most to the County’s strategic efforts. Employees’ collective input will help ensure that management has a complete and accurate picture of how the work climate supports employee well-being, performance, and the County culture.
Is the County acting on the survey results?
The surveys resulted in a wealth of information that is being used to identify and prioritize programs and initiatives to enhance the work environment to better support employees, their performance, and our strategic values. Although many initiatives can be implemented with little expense, initiatives will have to be prioritized and implemented within available resources. Nevertheless, the County is committed to the strategic plan and its employees. Our efforts will be ongoing.
